Performance
The 2026 Sportage offers a dependable and energetic driving experience thanks to its standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. This powertrain allows you to pass vehicles on I-10, as it has an output of up to 187 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard 8-speed automatic transmission assists in transferring power to the wheels and contributes to smooth, effortless gear shifts. If you opt for the base trim, you’ll enjoy standard FWD. However, upper trims have available AWD1 if you prefer greater capabilities over uneven terrain. On this particular drivetrain, you’ll have the additional available Terrain Mode, which includes Snow or Sand and Mud settings. It modifies your vehicle’s performance settings to better adapt to these tough road conditions.
Cabin
After a long day of hiking at Friedrich Wilderness Park, you can come back to the 2026 Kia Sportage and relax for the journey home. Sink back into the available 10-way power driver's seat with a 2-way power lumbar adjustment and make changes as needed to better support your posture. These front chairs come with optional heating2 and ventilation functions for maximum comfort. Meanwhile, the standard 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats can transform the back of the cabin into an open space for oversized cargo. However, even when they’re in an upright position, Sportage owners have a lot of space to work with. In fact, the 39.6 cubic ft. of cargo space is generous enough to easily hold a week’s worth of groceries, strollers, or a large dog crate.
Technology
After being in the Texas heat, you can use the Pre-Cooling and Heating system through Kia Access App3 to lower the cabin temperature before you even get into the Sportage. Once inside, you may adjust the settings however you like as well as decide on entertainment through the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen display4. An equally large 12.3-inch instrument display5 is available and sits directly next to this interface. If your mobile device is close to low battery, you can quickly get a boost of energy by placing it on the wireless phone charger6.
